“a moody folk-rock celebration of the great unknown, and of the hope that there's something greater in there than we can ever assume.”
The new album MEADOWLANDS is out now!
The upcoming album Meadowlands and the second chapter of The Moon Mother Saga is a powerful development of their previous released works. They have recorded and self-produced the album once again in their home but this time they collaborated with the drummer Robert Hall who gave it all a heartbeat. Then they teamed up with Hans Olsson at Svenska Grammofonstudion who put the cherry on the cake of it all with a majestic mix and master of it. The final work is a massive, hauntingly beautiful and dark journey through the spiral of life, the decay and rot of autumn, the heavy death of winter and the glimmering rays of the first sunrise of spring. An enchanted dance between hope and despair that's hiding in the holes of grief, deep isolation, surviving sexual abuse, addiction and intergenerational trauma but still finding ways to hold on and keep fighting.
Those who enter will transcend into the holy world of Meadowlands, the place outside, the place within.
PRESS/REVIEWS:
“Sincerity requires an open mind and spreads at its own pace to give quality to those who are receptive. The West Swedish duo Moon Mother builds their music on this insight. On their second album 'Meadowlands' they consolidate their position as the country's leading slowcore band. And the least noticed, it should be added. With slow rock, ingredients of folk and melancholy, the couple Sara Mehner and Patriec Ahlström manage to fill a void within slow music that is not clearly represented anywhere else. ★★★★★”
“While they may have been riding under the radar, Moon Mother, I predict that sooner than later, they will be on everyone’s radar and have them all saying, “Where did this come from?” Well, it came from Sweden, and its name is Moon Mother.”
“A journey through darkness that really touches me.”
“It’s an enchanting, somewhat mystical album, rich with intricate arrangements that reveal more with each listen. Sit back and take in the majestic ‘World In A Glass Jar’ to hear for yourself.”
“This is an album for those times when you need quiet to reach inside yourself and find the flickering light of hope once more or to sink back into the warmth of your home and simply let your emotions take the journey with Moon Mother, to see the world through their eyes. In a world of turbulence you may even find a haven here. I love this, I truly do.”
